Colombia - Akuani River Lodge 2024 Hosted Weeks

I am right now just getting caught up after spending over a month in Colombia. During two of my weeks, I hosted groups to Afloat’s new destination - Akuani River Lodge.

I am so pleased that I decided to book these weeks. I had great groups. Better yet, I fell in love with everything about this trip…..the lodge itself, the staff and service, and the amazing diversity in the kinds of fishing we experienced. During our week, we fished the lagoons of the Vichada River for four days. But, for two days, we adventured to the mighty Orinoco where Afloat had a beautiful camp set up for us. We fished the Maipures Rapids for Payara. This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Yes, Payara are amazing. More amazing yet was the geology and natural environment. It was unlike anything I have ever seen. All members of my groups were blown away by it.
