HOSTED TRAVEL SCHEDULE 2022

Next year will be big for me. Both my kids will be off to college. This means that my plans for hosting trips around the world are going to expand. Listed below are trips that I have confirmed for 2022. AND, I will be adding more, particularly cultural and combination cultural/fishing trips to Cuba. Please reach out for more information if you are looking to join me on these adventures.

GOLDEN DORADO CRUISER - ARGENTINA

DATE: January 15-22, 2022

PRICE: $4950 per person, based on double occupancy

GROUP SIZE: 8 clients plus me as host

This will be my first time doing this trip, although it has been on my list for a long time. Located not far from beautiful Buenos Aires, we will be staying aboard the well-appointed Golden Dorado Cruiser mother ship. Every day we will explore waters near and far in search of feeding Dorado, enticing them with irresistible flies imitating their prey. Most of these fish are in the 5-10 pound range, but they can be very plentiful. Join me in pursuing these exotic fish, all the while enjoying great food and wine aboard our own private yacht.

COLOMBIA AFLOAT - COLOMBIA

DATES: February 19-26, 2022 & March 5-12. 2022

PRICE: $4595 per person based on double occupancy

GROUP SIZE: 10 clients plus me as host

I love this trip, and I am in love with the country of Colombia. Freshly explored, and only recently available to anglers, Colombia’s jungle rivers are full of Peacock Bass. Hard-working anglers should expect to hook a lot of fish every day, with some fish coming to hand that are between 15-20 pounds. Colombia Afloat has a great camp on the Tomo River, but it needs to be said that this is a camp - not a luxury lodge. That is part of what I love about it. If you are up for adventure, and if aggressive predatory fish turn your crank, join me on one of my two hosted trips I have reserved for 2022.

COMBINATION CULTURE & FISHING - CUBA

DATES: To Be decided (May,2022)

PRICE: To be decided

GROUP SIZE: Maximum of 16 clients plus myself and Dave McCoy as hosts

I have to say that this is probably my favorite trip that I do, whether within Cuba, or around the world. Life in Cuba is fascinating. And of course, the fishing is top-notch. One of the things that makes this trip so unique is that I have been to Cuba now a few dozen times, and I have worked very hard to cultivate contacts and activities. Rather than a canned itinerary that you can get through many other agents, ours is unique, with time spent meeting local Cubans. These Cubans include the hosts at our accommodations, business owners, talented musicians and dancers, and school children and teachers. The fishing portion of the trip will combine the saltwater flats of Las Salinas, and the beautiful jungle river Hatiguanico, both near the famous Bay of Pigs. Like most of the trips I create and host, this is not a fancy trip. It is purposely the opposite, where we stay in friendly but humble accommodations. In doing so we meet our hosts and come away with new friends and an understanding of life in Cuba.

ISLAND OF THE YOUTH - CUBA

DATE: To be decided

PRICE: To be decided

GROUP SIZE: 12 guests plus myself and 1 other fishing host

Island of the Youth, amongst those in the know, is famous for its incredible population of resident and migratory Tarpon. As Spring arrives, so do more and more Tarpon, available to anglers in back bays, channels, over white sand flats, and along the ocean reef. We will be staying aboard the beautiful Avalon 1 yacht, which will make two moorages during the week. The first week involves almost uniquely Tarpon fishing, while at the second our group will also be able to search out Permit and Bonefish. This is normally a very expensive trip, at around $9000 per angler. I have mitigated that greatly, by booking a week slightly later in the season, and also agreeing to have more guests on the boat. This saves us each a solid $3000 per person, but it does mean that we will have to share more rooms on the boat. For me, the savings in price easily justifies this. There will only be 3 single rooms, and those who make deposits first will be given priority for those accommodations.

This is a great trip. Hooking Tarpon in so many kinds of habitats keeps things very interesting. And, with these fish all being between 20-100 pounds, anglers are able to fight and land them without completely ruining the rest of their day. After all, there are other fish to catch!
